LYRICS
The music and lyrics of all of these songs are my original work, unless otherwise stated.
BECAUSE I’M FREE
I walk with a spring in my step and a smile
In the middle of my trials
I gotta smile
Some thinking I’m crazy, head up in the air.
Let them whisper let them stare;
I don’t care.
Because I’m free
Because I’m free
I can live what I believe
Because I’m free
Because I’m free
I can be who God created me to be.
Believing the promises you made are true,
I have put my trust in you
To see me through.
Just trying to understand who you want me to
Be or not to be for you;
It’s all for you.
CHORUS
BRIDGE
I’m free to love, I’m free to live
I’m free to have, I’m free to give
I’m free to laugh, I’m free to cry
I’m free to ask the reasons why
Oh I’m free!
I’m free to speak, I’m free to sing
I’m free to follow all my dreams
I’m free to move, I’m free to dance
I’m free to take another chance
Oh I’m free
I’m free to rest, I’m free to play
I’m free to serve, I’m free to pray
I’m free to do, I’m free to be
And if the Son shall set you free
You’ll be free indeed.
CHORUS
BLOW ME DOWN
Hello, nice to meet you, may I greet you
with a cool breeze, and a breath of fresh air?
I come in on the wind, like a whisper or a whistle, with a message to share.
I’m here to ruffle your feathers,
and rustle the pages in your book.
I’m here to get your attention,
get you to take a closer look.
I’m here to fan the flames or ignite the spark
I’m here to sing you a song
that will speak to your heart.
Well blow me down and blow me in,
I come in on the wind.
I’ve got a message for you, I offer it up in a tune,
won’t you let me in?
Allow me to brighten your light so you can look about without being frightened
And then let me take your hand, let’s catch a breeze to a heightened point of view,
So me and you can see what’s true.
Come, let us reason together.
We can work out our woes, whatever, whenever.
Come let the Spirit lead.
All we need is to believe that we can make things better!
Blow me down and blow me in
I come on the wind.
I’ve got a message for you, I offer it up in a tune,
won’t you let me in?
I don’t need to wrap it in metaphor,
I’ll make it clear if you’ll open the door
Let’s stop the fightin let’s start uniting,
we’re all a part of something more.
C’mon my sisters and brothers.
The message is this: love one another
I said, c'mon my sisters and brothers,
The message is this:
Love one another.
CRAZY COCKAMAMIE LADY
Sometimes, in the middle of my intensity,
I consider the possibility that I might just be
a crazy cockamamie lady.
Who am I to think I’ve got something to say?
What if nobody wants to listen to me?
Is this all just self-delusion
or did God make me this way?
Crazy Cockamamie.
But, then I reconsider,
what if God really did put this in me,
this desire to light a fire in people’s souls,
then could it be, that if I kept it to myself
and denied my identity I might actually be…
a crazy cockamie lady?
Who am I to think I’ve got something to say?
What if no one wants to listen to me?
Is this all just self-delusion
or did God make me this way?
Let me spell it out for you:
C- Cukoo, cukoo, cukoo
R-you really truly you? From
A- to
Z-
Y-you gotta be so crazy?
(repeat)
Crazy Cockamamie.
I swear I’d go crazy...
if I couldn’t be me.
I DON'T KNOW
Wandering along in this maze of my making
And stumbling upon a path not taken
Will you tell me which way to go,
‘Cause God, I really don’t know.
Turning my head to the left and the right
And then over my shoulder to gaze at the sights
That I’ve left behind me,
But, God, I really can’t see.
Will you light the path before me?
Will you open up my eyes?
And will you take my hand and
Will you understand that
I don’t know just where I am?
I don’t know.
Dreaming the dreams of so many, it seems
But they’re not coming true
And I’ve dared to blame you
Like a vessel of clay
Asking why’d you make me this way.
Searching for purpose and truth and for beauty
And digging for treasures,
But coming up empty
And I’m weak and I’m weary
Trying so hard to find me.
Will you take this burden from me?
Will you show me where to go?
And will you fashion me into
A better likeness of you?
‘Cause I don’t know just who I am
I don’t know.
Show me who I am and
Help me understand and
Show me where to go
‘Cause, God, I just don’t know and
Light the path for me.
Open my eyes to see
Just where you’re leading me ‘cause
I want to know.
(Repeat)
I don’t know.
What I Like
I like rainy days in the summertime
Incense rising off the street.
The way the drops fall in and
Quench my thirsty skin and
Cool the ground beneath my feet.
I like watching clouds in the afternoon
Movies reeling through the skies
Telling all the stories
Of the love and wars and glories
Satisfies my soul and eyes.
Chorus
And in the evening breeze
I like to watch the dancing trees
Cast their shadows on the wall.
And as I'm gazing out
I like to think about the beauty
And the one who made it all.
I like star-gazing from a mountain top
Reaching up to hold their charms
Lassoing the moon
And singing her a pretty tune
While I lie safe within your arms.
Chorus
I like daydreaming nearly all the time
Of all the things I like to do.
But of all these things
The greatest joy that each one brings
Is when I'm doing them with you.
Yeah I like doing them with you.
'Cause I like spending time with you.
WALL STREET
Why would I wanna walk a street called “Wall”
Which by name makes the claim
to lead nowhere at all?
It’s a shame, who we gonna blame
When it all falls?
I’d rather travel down the street called Straight
Which by fate is the way to the pearly gates
I’m not a hater, but see you later alligator.
CHORUS
I ain't got no place in the economy
With the wolves, I‘m a lamb,
So won’t you let me be me, myself
And nobody else.
I’m not a rat, so I’ll opt out of the race
No climb or clamber to the top of the pay scale
I can’t keep pace.
I prefer to step to the rhythm of grace.
You can’t entice me
with all of thoseany of your niceties,
None of those vices please
No matter how you slice it
There's no dice for me.
I don’t roll well with high society.
I live my Life In Simple Terms
My List of pleasures is to Love and Learn
I don’t put stock in no securities
I’m storing treasures in eternity.
CHORUS
I gotta lotta good ideas
I’m not gonna feed em
to the sharks in the tank or the dragons in the den
Where would I be then?
On the road with all the others,
All the pushers and shovers and lovers of the covers
on the way to the Wall,
Which leads to nowhere at all
I say they're on their way to the wall
The wall about to fall.
Oh yeah, they're on their way to the wall.
I don’t want to walk down Wall Street.
Go with the Flow

If there’s one thing that life has taught me
If there’s one place that the river has brought me
If there’s one thing that I’ve become,
It’s a go-with-the-flow kinda girl.

I don’t want to put up a fight
trying to get to a place that’s just not right.
No need to push and shove,
that’s not the way of Love.
I prefer to go with the flow.
CHORUS
And take it easy, cool and breezy,
No need to get uptight, no need to put up a fight
Just go with the flow
Taking time to find the rhythm and rhyme of the world.
Set my sights downstream,
That’s where I’m meant to be
Just goin’ with the flow.
Life is what we think of it
Our thoughts provide the give and the take of it.
You can try to paddle up stream
But if you do, you’ll be living in misery.
Why hold on tight when you can just let go
And let the river take control?
It’s time to change your course,
There’s no need to force it
Just let go and go with the flow.
Chorus
(Instrumental)
chorus
Outro:
Row, row, row your boat
gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
Row, row, row your boat
gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
Merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.
HELLO SUNSHINE
Hello Sunshine.
It’s so good to see you back this way again
There were times I thought those rainy days would never end
Mmm, never end
In the morning, when I open up the blinds
I see you smile
And you beckon me to come outside and play awhile
Mmm, for a while
CHORUS
You make the rooster crow in the morning
You make the flowers open their eyes
You make the water perfect for splashing around
Oh you do
Verse 2
On a lazy afternoon,
You warm a spot upon the carpet just for me
Point your finger to a book and we just sit and read
Mmm, for a while.
CHORUS
In the evening,
I will thank the Lord for such a lovely day
And I’ll pray that on the morrow you’ll be back my way
So we can play
Will I see you tomorrow?
Won’t you come back tomorrow?
Hope I see you tomorrow.
ONE
One, we are one (2X)
One drop within the sea
One with the growing tree
One with eternity
We are one, we are one
One, we are one (2X)
The turning day and night
The darkness and the light
We are one (2X)
One the wind that blows in every rain
One the breath that flows from every being
One the earth on which we stand and whence we came
We are one. (2x)
CHORUS
My heart rings, My soul sings
A song to bring this truth to every ear
My heart breaks, My soul aches
When eyes are closed, and we refuse to hear
We are one (2X),
One with the infinitely small,
And one with the ALL
One, we are one (2X)
One with the Force of Light
One with the Source of Life
We are one. (2x)
One, we are one (2X)
One is the voice that calls for peace to one and all
We are one.
One the wind that blows in every rain
One the breath that flows from every being
One the earth on which we stand and whence we came
We are one. (2x)
CHORUS
One with the infinitely small and One with the ALL.
Bridge:
I am because we are. We are one. (Repeat)
One with the infinitely small
and One with the ALL.
SAY WHAT?
Listen up if you have ears to hear
I’ve got a message and the message is clear:
You gotta live to love and love to live
shine your light and give yourself away,
hey, hey, I say
you gotta to live to love and love to live
shine your light and give yourself away.
You say, “say what? What’s that you say?
You want me to give my life away?
I say no way! I work too hard for my pay.
I’m gonna keep it to myself and save it for a rainy day hey hey!
No way! I’ve got too many bills to pay!
I’ve got stuff to do and stuff to buy
and other stuff to occupy my day.
hey, hey!
I said no way!”
Listen up if you have ears to hear
I’ve got a message and the message is clear.
You gotta live to love and love to live
shine your light and give yourself away, hey hey.
I say You’ve got to live to love and love to live
shine your light and give yourself away
You say, “say what? What’s that you say?
You want me to give my life away?
You want me to forget about my worries,
and live from day to day, and pray?
You want me to live to love and love to live,
shine my light and give myself away?
Hey hey.
Is that what you say? Hey hey?
Well, let me think about that a minute…
(...)
Ok.”
Wake Up!
It’s darkest just before the dawn
Midnight hour has long come and gone,
It’s time to wake up.
There’s a haze inside your head,
Not quite ready to get up out of bed
But the alarm said to wake up!
CHORUS
Wake up!
It’s time to open up your eyes.
It’s time to look upon a new dawn
And see the sun rise,
Wake up!
It’s time to turn on the lights.
Put the darkness behind you.
Let the light find you.
It’s time to pull away the covers
It’s time to draw up the shades
It’s time to wake up for a brand new day.
Joy comes in the morning
Don’t miss the coming of the son
It’s time to wake up
The time has come.
CHORUS
Wake up!
It’s time to open up your eyes!
it’s time to realize you’ve been looking at lies
that blind you.
Wake up!
May my siren’s song remind you
To break off the ties that bind you
You gotta Let the light find you.
It’s Time for the People to Step In!
It’s time for the people to step in!
It’s time for us to rise up again.
Drown out the shouts of fear
With the Almighty voice of Love!
It’s time to rise. It’s time to get up!
It’s time to lift our voice, for the cause of Love!
It’s time for the people to step in!
Verse 1
Sisters and brothers of this generation
Can you believe what’s become of our nation?
With the corporatocracy controlling our democracy?
Profits for the few trump the good of the many.
A politics of fear make us feel we ain’t got any
Any hope for a better way.
But I say, it’s time to rise-up to a new day!
CHORUS
They’re poisoning our earth, food, water and air.
Poisoning our bodies in the name of health care.
Rise! It’s time to get up!
It’s time to write up a new declaration!
Pursuit of Peace, Truth and Inspiration!
Rise! It’s time to get up!
Open your eyes everyone, can you see the damage we have done?
Open your ears, let yourself hear the cries of despair.
Open your hearts, my friends, it’s time to make amends
It’s time to understand we can only stand if we join our hands!
It’s time for the people to step in!
CHORUS
It’s time for the people to step in. (x3)
It’s time
Earth and Breath
Spent years, trying to write this song
Working with words, but they kept coming out all wrong.
The verse was vague, but the message was clear.
Been thinking about the things I think about
always trying to figure things out
Like who knows? and what if? and why not?
and why on Earth am I here?
You see, I refuse to believe I'm just an accident,
some random combination of the elements.
No. I choose to believe that I was born with a particular design in mind,
There's a purpose for me I was meant to be.
‘Cause I’m made of Earth and the breath of God.
Hear the talking heads on the squawk box
Fleecing the flock with shock waves of fear,
Blocking the truth so the people can’t hear
Locking us in and out and sayin’ we can’t go here or there.
They’re telling us we can’t breathe fresh air!
They’re saying we gotta do what they say or to beware
They say it’s for our health, but I don’t think that they really care
Because they’re making us sicker!
People, please be aware!
They’re telling me I can’t be free to participate in society.
Who are they to try take away my Sovereignty?
Nobody has that power over me!
Cause I’m made of Earth and the Breath of God.
Somebody tell me the reasons why
so many are willing to believe in the lies.
Tell me why do we give our power away?
Haven’t we learned anything from yesterday?
What’s it gonna take to see
We were created in the image of divinity?
God in the flesh from dust to dust
and into eternity.
This is why I Am meant to be,
to share the songs of Liberty.
To help to set the captives free
by singing ‘bout Peace and Love and Harmony.
As you and I are one, so may we all be,
We’re made of Earth and the breath of God.
As you and I are one so may we all be,
Made of Earth and the breath of God.
Earth and the breath of God.

More to come
WATER
Cleanse me, purify me, oh Lord with your water.
Speak to me with your thundering voice
That calls from the falls of water.
Plant me by your river
Grant me life, oh Lord, more abundantly
Lead me by your still waters.
Restore my soul, restore my soul
Rain on me, open up your skies
With clean, clear, cold water
Fill me Lord, place a well in me
Springing with your living water
Flow through me like river
Drench me, quench me holy Lord, with a mighty flood
Lead me by your still waters
Restore my soul, restore my soul
Flow through me like river
Drench me, quench me holy Lord, with a mighty flood
Lead me by your still waters
Restore my soul, restore my soul
Restore my soul, restore my soul.
